Dai-guard is a severly under-rated series. And shame on you if you haven't seen it.
Aliens invade, yadda yadda. Just as we build a giant robot to counter the alien threat, they stop invading. As the years go by, Dai-guard is sold to a Security company and uses the aging robot as a mascot for it's company. Then aliens start invading again and the lawyers are furious.
Basically it's a Super Robot in a real robot series in a modern sense. Along with aliens, Dai-guard must also battle lawyers, tons of paper work, and an unsatiable bill that's constantly getting passed around. A real enjoyable series mostly for the character interaction.
This scene here is based off a scene where Dai-guard rips off his own arm to do a rocket punch.

And yes, I'm DEFINITELY going to have to check this series out...from some of the descriptions it's reminding me of a demented cross between giant robo anime and Office Space (and having WORKED for the government, yes, they DO go for the lowest bidder (who tends to gouge, LOL)...so I can see it happening like that IRL :3)

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. Dai-Guard was so good... and the "Rocket Fist" scene still cracks me up. Especially the fact, despit the stupidity envolved, it still works XD
